I believe primarily in prepping for the most probable disasters/issues, but i also strongly agree with prepping for the classic doomsday prepper scenarios. want to be secure? make sure the people around you aren't starving. which to me could be a baggy with a cup of rice, some jerky, and a bottle of water. When i was with oath keepers as county coordinator for CPT, i posted on their forums about community aid packages. if an EMP attack happened or solar flare EMP'd us and our grid hasn't been properly prepared its unclear how long fixing it will take exactly. It's totally possible that the grid goes down if not indefinitely, then at least for the foreseeable future. I agree i think the shift from TEOTWAWKI prepping to more realistic/probable prepping has played a big role in the mainstreaming of preparedness.
